Ru'ach to hold its 14th Annual Pride Seder, June 25
Ru'ach, Temple Israel of Greater Miami's LGBT havurah group, will hold its annual Pride Seder, June 25. Begun in 2000, the Pride Seder is Ru'ach's biggest event of the year, held during Gay Pride Month. To mark the Pride Seder's 14th anniversary, three of its originators ? Miami attorney Robert S. Glazier, Miami Beach entrepreneur Marc Levin and Temple Israel president Joan Schaeffer ? will be honored. Modeled on the Passover Seder, which recounts the Jewish people?s exodus from slavery to freedom in ancient Egypt with songs, prayers, questions and vignettes, the Pride Seder shares the victories and struggles of LGBT Jewish life with interactive roles for participants. Hosts for the evening are Miami Beach attorney Elizabeth Schwartz, Cantor Lisa Segal of Temple Beth Sholom in Miami Beach, Temple Israel?s musical director Dr. Alan Mason, temple board member Beco Lichtman, and Michael Meltzer whose company Michael's Catering is catering the event. All are welcome to attend!
