The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC) invites its members to a "Virtual Business Chat" with President & CEO, Steve Adkins and Debra Salas, Lead Lender Relations Specialist with the SBA on Wednesday June 24th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. 

We'll be doing this event via Zoom and are asking all attendees to join us with their webcam, if possible. This "Virtual Business Chat" will include remarks by the Chamber's President & staff, an opportunity for you to introduce yourself to the group, as well as participation in a moderated discussion with Q&A. Special guest speaker from the SBA (Small Business Administration) will provide a current update on disaster relief programs as well as reviewi the guidelines for proper loan reporting and documentation.  

We want to know how you are doing, remind you how we can be of assistance, and hear from you what else we can do to support you during these unprecedented times.  While we all continue practicing Physical Social Distancing we hope you can join us for this Virtual Social Engagement!


 

Recently, she worked as VP, Director of Small Business Lending for Neighborhood Lending Partners (NLP), a non-profit CDFI within the state of Florida. She was responsible for executing their SBA small business loan program goals by conducting business development, marketing and community outreach activities throughout the state. Prior to joining NLP, she worked in the non-profit field and academia, as well as owned and operated a small, alternative lending mortgage brokerage business in Miami that served customers who did not typically qualify for traditional financing. In 2017, Debra was awarded the SBA Financial Advocate of the Year for the state of Florida, and for the South Florida District. Debra has been actively involved within the community, serving on the Miami-Dade Bridge Loan Committee after Hurricane Irma, Beacon Council’s Small Business Committee, Goldman Sach’s 10,000 Small Businesses, the SBA’s Emerging Leader Program and its Boots to Business, FLAGGL’s Small Business Lender’s Forum and the SBDC’s Women in Business Program. In 2019, Debra was invited to speak to a bi-partisan Congressional Small Business Committee in D.C. about the SBA’s Community Advantage Program. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Hunter College and her Masters degree from New York University.
