About the Presenter
Dr. Carmen D. Ortiz – visionary, evolutionary Latina relentless in her commitment to make this a better world through social entrepreneurship. She holds five college degrees, including MBA from Columbia University (1985) and Ph.D. from Texas Woman’s University (1973). Dr. Ortiz founded the US Hispanic Women Chamber of Commerce in 1989, served on the advisory board of the USA Small Business Administration for Region 2 (1991-93) and was named Hispanic businesswoman of the year in New York State (1990). In 1986, she left a prestigious Wall Street career in corporate finance to start her CD Ortiz Financial Management Group, Inc., a full service financial planning and business consulting firm. Since 2010, Dr. Ortiz has been studying and practicing the creation and building of “new” business models, applying innovative breakthrough marketing and business tools and strategies. She is a digital marketing expert and coach, committed to inspiring and empowering women to build business miracles in the new global and digital economy.
